Breast Cancer Awareness Month | Georgia Think Pink Photographer
Posted on October 1, 2009
It was actually several weeks ago that I was accepted as a Network Photographer with the Think Pink Photography organization, but I wanted to hold off on sharing this news until today since October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I figured there would be no better time than today to get the word out. I am very proud and excited to be a participating photographer with this charity.

Think Pink Photo Sessions are available for any individual that has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer or completed treatment within the past 12 months. The goal of these sessions is to document the fight before or during treatment or to celebrate the victory when treatment is completed. Any person who qualifies for a Think Pink Session will receive the following items:
- One complimentary portrait session
- Ten 5×7 prints from your Think Pink Session
- 10% discount on any additional prints ordered
And, of course, what is a blog post without photos???
I know there is a lot to be said about the quality of these photos, but in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share them with you today.
Several years ago, my mother-in-law’s best friend passed away after a long battle with Breast Cancer. My husband and I were so moved by her fight we wanted to do something to help. So in the summer of 2005, we spent 2 months training and raising money in support of the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. That fall, we successful completed our first 5K in New York City. It was a proud and humbling experience for us. One we will never forget.

Very cool. You should be proud. (And your photography is pretty nice!) Here’s another little thing you can do to help raise awareness just a bit: check out this little video — http://www.ahamoment.com/vote/polly — about a pretty remarkable woman and her walk around the world (literally) for breast cancer awareness. Then click to vote for her, and she might be a TV commercial next year. Which would be nice.
Best,
