You may remember this handsome little guy from his newborn session or his 6 month session last year… and here he is ONE YEAR OLD! I know I touched on this in my last blog post about capturing my own sons first-year milestones, but posts like this are why I love my job so much. As wonderful as it is to watch my own children grow, I just love that I get to witness it over and over again with my clients.

My baby graduated from infancy to toddler-hood today. Though someone should have told him because he’s been walking around like a big boy for a few weeks now!

Here is his first official photo as a 1 year old! Taken shortly after 2 am on March 9, 2011. He was born at 1:59 am but Mama missed her alarm this year!

What a fun-filled year it has been for us! He has grown so quickly, it seems like I blinked for one second and all the sudden my helpless little infant was suddenly this HUGE walking/talking/laughing big boy! Looking back at his photos I’m SO glad I was able to capture all of his milestones this past year. From being able to hold his head up on his own, to sitting unassisted and then pulling up to stand!

This year Carson had a joint birthday party with his big brother. The theme was Curious George and both boys had a wonderful time and Carson quickly became a fan of CAKE!!

I cannot believe that my baby is now 9 months old! At 9 months old he can crawl a lightening speed, pull up on anything and every thing and cruise furniture like it’s his job. He’s even starting to let go and stand on his own! His favorite food is oatmeal mixed with fruit but he will try just about anything, especially if it’s on my plate! He has 4 and a half teeth and still loves his paci. He is always happy and smiling and hardly ever cries. He is such a joy in our lives.

My first session back in the saddle after my maternity leave was simply the best I could ask for. My model was an adorable, spunky, four time pageant winning 9 month old named McKenzie Belle who made my job easy! It was 100 degrees outside and oh-so-buggy and threatening rain buy you’d never be able to tell that by the smile on sweet McKenzie’s face. This baby girl is not only pretty she’s super smart and has more personality than I do in my pinky toe. Thanks, for a fabulous session to get me started taking photos again. A few weeks ago my sister invited my family to visit Florida with her and her family. Her twins are now 6 months old and I immediately had visions on a sunset photo session on the beach. Turns out I had forgotten the innate curiosity hardwired into all 6 month olds… we put the boys in the sand and all they wanted to do was look at it, touch it, play with it, and eat it! Getting them both to look at me at the same time was next to impossible. While the images in my head never happened, I am thrilled with the photos I did get. These guys sure have grown since they were itty bitty 5 pound newborns back in March, huh?
